It may be useful to take a course. My husband has won awards for pictures taken with a point and shoot. Knowing the camera, techniques and being creative are the key things. I have merely taken one course and obviously not an expert. Here are some ideas regarding videography of music concerts (if possible offcourse.) * Important thing is the audio. So try to capture the audio thru the main sound system. * Scout the location ahead of time. This will help you decide the place where your camera can be located for a better image. * If your subject has more light on one side than the other then move the camera closer to the darker side. * Tell a story with other shots like shots of the audience, out side of the hall, some decorations in the hall etc. * Then lay the audio on the top of these shots.
