This is to express our gratitute towards “THE MASTERMIND BEYOND THE CLINLINESS DRIVE”, the most dedicated officer of Brihanmumbai Mahanagarpalica, who works for 24 hours and 7 days to fulfill the dream of “CLEAN MUMBAI”, Shri Subhash Dalvi , for his guidance, active support and active participation and valuable help, all the time without whom it was just impossible. His one speech just one speech made the difference. It just changed the lifelong attitude of all of us and the rest is "Creating History"
(My advice to the people who enjoys staying in the most unhygenic conditions to stay away from Shri Subhash Dalvi, if they want "Status Quo". )
In south Mumbai, problem of housegullies still haunts the civic authorities. We the residents, tried to solve it through citizens initiative and participation.

We had undertaken the cleanliness and beautification drive in our lane during the month of Feb 2002 with the full support and cooperation of BMC, D ward. The cleanliness drive was initiated under the Dattaka Vasti Yojana (Area Adoption Scheme) of BMC under the able guidance of Mr. Subhash Dalvi (then Officer on Special Duty) and Shri Rajendra Vale (then AMC) and Shri Ravindra Howale (AHS ) of B.M.C.

During the Cleanliness Drive we freed all housegullies from garbage, sewage water, rodents, mosquitoes, cleaned all underground drainage and since then we have successfully maintained almost all housegullies in neat and clean conditions. All those years, we had remained complainant body and did nothing except cursing BMC for not maintaining the hygienic conditions in our surroundings. During this drive, we all residents changed our attitude and worked along with B.M.C. hand-in-hand to solve the chronic problem of cleaning and maintaining housegullies. We feel that to reduce the unnecessary burden on B.M.C in handling the solid waste the local residents should come forward and adopt their area to maintain the cleanliness

Very good. We need to be a part of the solution not the problem. Congratulations for setting an example.
