Lalita Deulkar + Rafi + C Ramchandra combo has given us another nice song in 'tum hamaare ho na ho' in Saajan (1947). The song also has a solo-only version in Rafi's voice.

In the song 'more raajaa ho', the words are 'tum-hee morii praaN aadhaar'.

She is wife of Sudhir Phadke, If I am not wrong

Rajabhau: You are correct. Lalitabai Deulkar started singing for films in late 1930s, and married Sudhir Phadke after a singing career of 8-10 years. Lalita Deulkar-Phadke curtailed her singing career after marriage. Her parents were under debt; Lalitabai helped them pay it off, got married, and thereafter she sang only a few songs, mostly for Babuji, without charging any money, and often as a fill-in if the chosen singer was not available for some reason on the day when the recording studio was booked and thus owed money.

I think she was part of the chorus which has sung the opening few words in 'swaye shreeraamaprabhuu aikatee'. In Pehi Taarikh, best known for Kishore Kumar's 'din hai suhaanaa, aaj pahalii taariikh hai', Lalitabai sang a nice solo: 'hisaab zaraa sunate jaanaa jee'. And in a Marathi film (Suwasini, 1961), she has given a reasonable account of herself in a duet with Bhimsenji in a short recording of the Gujari Todi bandish: The same bandish was recorded as a solo in BJ's voice for मी तुळस तुझ्या अंगणी in 1955.

Dear Anonymous ,

I do have the song, " Hamko tumhara hi aasara , tum hamaare ho na ho'
Thanks for reminding.
btw who are you. You are such a knowledgable person.

While I generally detest taking serious issues from behind the cloak of anonymity, it is bit of a harmless fun to toss around some mild opinions while remaining anonymous. Besides, I think you yourself prefer protection of a screen-id like 'Harekrishnaji', which is unlikely to be your real name; no?

I am (obviously) interested in old film music, and have met your friend Uday Dravid a couple of times, though he is unlikely to remember me.

One of these days, I should perhaps sign off with my name after a comment. In the meantime, thanks for bringing to us these gems via YouTube.

I understand and I appriciate that.

I was about to write on Zhanjhar.

I think "Ji chahata hai ab to duniya se ruth jaye, oothe pai aa rahai hai maut ki duvaaye " is from zhanjhar.

One of the excellent song.

Looks like I typed the name incorrectly as Jhaanjar; it should be Jhaanjhar.

The song 'jee chaahataa hai ab to duniyaa se rooth jaaye, hoTho.n pe aa rahee hai.n ab maut kee duaaeN' is indeed from Jhaanjhar. However the song was removed from the film some time after the film was released. The song is a testament to Lata's incredible artistry.
